HPOL: World's largest database of optical spectropolarimetry
Abstract
We describe a database of optical spectropolarimetry on over 500 stars observed between 1989 and 2004. The wavelength range was 3200-7750A˚ prior to 1995, and 3200-10500A˚ from 1995-2004, with spectral resolution 10-25A˚. Much of the data are publicly available from the Multimission Archive at STScI (MAST; http://archive.stsci.edu/hpol/), with more delivered as they are processed. Detailed information on each source is available on our website (http://www.sal.wisc.edu/HPOL/). We encourage all interested researchers to make use of this high-quality data set.
